Dr M Muthu Gopala Krishnan

Associate Professor

Dr. M. Muthu Gopalakrishnan is an Associate Professor at the Manipal Institute of Commerce, Finance and Economics (MICFE), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Bengaluru Campus. An academician with nearly two and a half decades of experience in teaching, research, training, and academic administration, he holds B.Com., M.Com., MBA, M.Phil., Ph.D., and UGC-NET (Commerce) qualifications. He obtained his Ph.D. from Madurai Kamaraj University, specializing in Institutional Finance and MSMEs, and has enhanced his expertise through Faculty Development Programmes at premier institutions, including the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode. Prior to joining MAHE, he served at Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship (XIME), Acharya Bangalore B-School (ABBS), and CHRIST (Deemed to be University). He teaches Accounting, Finance, and Data Analysis, with research interests in Institutional Finance, Financial Markets, Financial Literacy, Financial Inclusion, MSME Development, Behavioural Finance, Social Impact Assessment, and Sustainable Finance. Dr. Muthu Gopalakrishnan has published in peer-reviewed, UGC-CARE Listed, and Scopus-indexed journals, completed funded research projects, and presented over 50 papers at national and international conferences. He has guided postgraduate dissertations and Ph.D. scholars, adjudicated Ph.D. theses, and served on Boards of Studies. He is a frequent resource person for conferences, workshops, and Faculty Development Programmes, and has conducted over 200 Government of India-sponsored Financial Education and Investor Awareness Programmes as a National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE) Certified Financial Education Trainer. He also serves as Chief Editor of a peer-reviewed journal, reviews for national and international journals, and is an active member of the Indian Commerce Association.
