Dr. Subhadip Mukhopadhyay

Associate Professor

Dr. Mukhopadhyay did his integrated Master of Science degree in Biotechnology from St. Xavier’s College (autonomous), Kolkata under Calcutta University in 2011. He earned his doctoral degree on the topic of autophagy and apoptosis crosstalk in cancer during stress from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha, India in 2016. Following which he started his postdoctoral study at New York University (NYU) Langone, Grossman School of Medicine, Radiation Oncology Department, New York, United States. During this time, he studied the role of autophagy in rewiring the iron and cysteine metabolism in pancreatic cancer. He was promoted to a Research Scientist position at NYU and worked there till 2025. Dr. Mukhopadhyay has published 41 articles in peer-reviewed international journals, like PNAS, Science advances, Free radical Biology and medicine to name a few. He has published 4 book chapters. He has multiple roles and responsibilities with different internationally reputed journals. He is serving as an academic editor in Plos One, International Journal of Breast Cancer, The Breast Journal, Peer J - Life and Environment. He is serving as an associate editor in BMC Cancer, Cancer Cell International, Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, Frontiers in Oncology, Frontiers in Immunology. He is also an editorial board member in Data in brief, Oncology letters.
