Department of Liberal Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (DLHS)

The Department of Liberal Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (DLHS), which is a constituent unit of the Bengaluru Campus of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), aims to nurture future global citizens with the innate ability to address prominent social, economic, and structural problems challenging human civilization today.

The Department equips students with topical clarity, analytical and introspective skills, life skills, and the ability to communicate effectively through a transdisciplinary approach grounded in critical thinking. The objective is to create well-rounded individuals, who can take on the world with confidence and make it a better place.

The Department offers a plethora of relevant Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programmes in different disciplines that fall within the larger domain of Liberal Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

All the programmes have been designed by integrating several skill-based courses. DLHS  follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and Continuous Assessment and Grading Pattern (CAGP) for maintaining a uniform academic standard. The curriculum framework of all the programmes have been meticulously designed to meet the contemporary industry standards and is in consonance with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020).
