Manipal Institute of Technology Becomes First Engineering Institute in India to Join CFA Institute University Affiliation Program

Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first and only engineering institute in India to be onboarded to the prestigious CFA Institute University Affiliation Program (UAP) network.

This recognition marks an important step in MIT Manipal’s commitment towards interdisciplinary, industry-aligned and future-focused education. The institute has been offering the B.Tech. in Computer Science and Financial Technology since 2023, designed to integrate advanced computing technologies with financial systems and analytics.

The formal presentation of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program plaque took place on May 6, 2026, at MAHE, Manipal. The plaque was presented by Saim Fakih and Anjana Nahar from the CFA Institute University Relations team to Dr. P. Giridhar Kini, Registrar, MAHE.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Anil Rana, Director, MIT Manipal, along with Dr. Kuncham Syam Prasad and Dr. Yogesh Pai P, Associate Deans of MIT, faculty members and other dignitaries.

The affiliation with the CFA Institute reflects MIT Manipal’s growing focus on emerging domains at the intersection of finance and technology.  The B.Tech. program in Computer Science and Financial Technology is designed to equip students with competencies in areas such as financial analytics, fintech systems, artificial intelligence, data science, blockchain technologies and quantitative finance, preparing graduates for rapidly evolving global career opportunities.

With this achievement, MIT Manipal continues to strengthen its position as a pioneer in innovative engineering education and interdisciplinary learning in India.
