GeoVerse’25 – Shaping the Future of Earth Exploration
October 27, 2025
The IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Student Branch Chapter, MIT Manipal, in collaboration with the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, successfully organized its flagship event GeoVerse’25 from October 21–24, 2025, at the Manipal Institute of Technology.
Held for the first time at MIT, the event aimed to foster interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and collaboration in Geoscience and Remote Sensing, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Shyama Narendranath K.C. (Scientist–SF, URSC, ISRO) and Dr. Narayana Sabhahit (Pro Vice-Chancellor, MAHE). A range of interactive sessions — including the Embedded IoT Workshop, GeoData Lab, LiDAR Mapping Workshop, and Build-a-Drone Bootcamp — provided hands-on learning experiences. The GeoLens Photography Contest and SHE CONNECT celebrated creativity and women in science.
The event concluded with a valedictory ceremony led by Cdr. Dr. Anil Rana, Director, MIT Manipal. GeoVerse’25 truly embodied the spirit of innovation, sustainability, and global collaboration.
