Team METAL Shines at ‘Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2024’
Wins ₹50 Lakh CSR Grant at Grand Finale

Recognizing their groundbreaking contributions to environmental sustainability, Team METAL has emerged as the winner of the prestigious ‘Samsung Solve for Tomorrow (SFT) 2024’ grand finale, held in New Delhi on October 4, 2024. The team, comprising Mr. Arpit (B.Sc. Physics, Dept. of Atomic and Molecular Physics, MAHE), Ms. Shambhavi Sinha (B.Tech CCE, Dept. of Information and Communication Technology, MIT), and Abhijit Kumar (B.Sc. CSDA, IIT Patna), earned the distinguished title of "Environment Champions" for their innovation in water purification.
As winners, Team METAL received a CSR grant of ₹50 lakh from Samsung, which will aid them in further developing their impactful solution to address the critical issue of arsenic contamination in drinking water. The team has also founded a startup, Navmarg Research and Innovation Pvt. Ltd., operating out of the Innovation Center at MIT, MAHE.
Their flagship invention, METAL (Molecular Magnetic Technology for Arsenic Removal), is an eco-friendly device designed to tackle the widespread problem of arsenic contamination in water supplies. With their pioneering technology, Team METAL is making significant strides toward providing clean and safe drinking water for communities across the country, aligning with the vision of sustainable development.
